Beauty, Headshots...and Coors Light??

I shot headshots for two actresses and a beauty look for a gorgeous romanian model a while back.  The MUA for the day was Denise of www.makeupbymojica.com.

It was a fun day.  Actresses always bring a lot of personality to the shoots.

So, where does the coors light fit in you ask?  Well, after the models left, my boyfriend discovered a couple coors light bottlecaps in the bathroom!  One of the models/actresses were slammin beers in the bathroom between looks! HA!!!

Brides and Beauty Light

So a MUA friend of mine wanted to get some bridal type shots, and I wanted to try out my photographer friend's beauty light AKA ring flash....so....we coordinated and did a shoot.

Here are the results.

After the beauty part, my friend Natini and I did a quickie shoot as well:

I kinda dig the beauty light and it's hazy glow around the subjects..but I dunno if I'd want to use it too often.  Besides that thing is HEAVY!!! oh my goodness, I had to put the camera down every few minutes.  My biceps/triceps were getting sore!

Alice - Miya - Joelly

OK last Monday I shot three girls totally out of the blue. I was at home minding my own business when I get a call from Denise, one of the makeup artists I worked with a few weeks back. She and her three models were flaked on by their photographer! Tacky. So they came over and we did a shoot in the park near my home studio. It was a hot and humid evening and all of us got eaten alive by mosquitos, but the girls were troopers and kept up a fun attitude. These girls were daredevils I tell ya...climbing on rocks, up on ledges etc. Denise did a great job transforming them into a cheetah, peacock and zebra. Great makeup job and it held up against the humidity and sweat! Here are a couple shots:

Dianne

Let me tell you about the client that I just loved from hello to goodbye. Dianne is an aspiring actress (current diva) who came for headshots last weekend. She brought along her sister who was just as much fun as she was. The makeup artist was a fabulous dude named Jude, who made Dianne look just fierce as can be. I knew the day was going to be a success because despite the crappy rainy weather, everyone arrived on time...exactly at the same time...and everyone was smiling and getting along right from the start. Dianne was very easy to shoot and was natural in front of the camera. I can't wait to see her on the big screen so I can say 'i knew her when...'
Here are a few of the headshots. More coming soon.

Satin

I shot headshots for a commercial model turned actress named Satin last week. She had me and the makeup artist, Denise Mojica, cracking up from the moment she walked in the door. I had shot Satin about a year ago to give her modeling images for her portfolio so we had easy rapport and she was used to my shooting style. Let me tell you, this girl was a trooper! It was a sunny 90 degree day, AWFUL for outdoor shooting, and I was marching that girl all around upper manhattan to find a suitable shooting place. She really took it in stride...and had us laughing along the way. Here are some of her headshots, more on the way as I edit.

John

On Saturday I shot an old friend from high school that I hadn't seen in forever. He looked exactly the same, I felt old. He was always a drama kid back then, so it only follows that he's a rising theatre/acting star now.
We shot headshots in a few locations around inwood manhattan. He was great at invoking different characters and feels. At one point I was narrarating his character's life and he was emoting as that character for each shot. It was FUN! I love shooting actors!

More images are on the way, but here is just one teaser.

Christine

I shot actress/model Christine this weekend as well. She was a true chameleon and morphed into a vampiress, elle woods and audrey hepburn all in one day! The makeup artist was Elizabeth and she did a wonderful job of transforming Christine.

JoAncy

This was my second shoot with JoAncy and first with a new makeup artist Elizabeth. It went so well. Personalities meshed, lots of laughs were had, and we got some killer shots!!

I'm still editing the images, but wanted to get some shots out to you. I'll continue adding them as I finish them up. Luckily, they really don't need much work at all! Gotta love a great model and makeup artist team!

Behind The Scenes w/ JoAncy, Christine and Elizabeth

Yesterday was a fun shoot! I shot model JoAncy for the second time and actress/model Christine for the first time. The makeup artist was Elizabeth of YourMUA. Everyone was just fabulous!! It was a long day, a hot day, and a productive shoot day.
I haven't gotten around to editing the pix yet, but here are some of the behind the scenes images shot by Elizabeth and JoAncy.

Shooting Christine the Vampiress....

Preparing the Vampire...that's Elizabeth doing makeup and my boyfriend doing dishes haha.

All smiles with Elizabeth and JoAncy.

Shooting JoAncy @ the coolest lil grafitti wall uptown.

Stay tuned for the actual photoshoot results....I'll have them up this week. I Promise.
